Bulk Beef

Certified Naturally Grown beef is another of our specialties.  Our cattle are raised 100% on pasture and are grass fed, grass finished, grass only.  We raise a Red Devon breed that dates back to the 1700s and before.  George Washington even raised Red Devons on his farm.  This breed performs exceptionally well on grass and has a wonderful personality making them easy to raise.

Nothing makes cattle more happy than moving them on to fresh pasture.  They search for their favorite types grasses first.  Our kids call this "Finding the ice cream".  We use intensive rotational grazing.  This process tries to replicate the effect of the buffalo herds of the great plains in the past.  The herds would move to a new pasture area, eat 1/3rd of the forage, trample 1/3rd of the forage, and leave 1/3rd standing.  Their natural instinct to do this actually led to a regenerative system that improved the grazing lands over time.

Our cattle are NEVER given antibiotics, vaccinations, or growth hormones.  They have a 100% grass fed, grass finished, grass only diet.  This means they take an extra 12 months to grow, but good things come to those who wait. And Farmer Zach's favorite animal on the farm are the cattle.
